Why Would Someone Need Emergency Treatment?

The reason a patient will need treatment for an emergency is because they are in pain or dealing with severe discomfort. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to get on with life because of this pain.  If left untreated, a smaller problem can grow bigger each day that it’s ignored. Dr. Max aims to make the emergency treatment process as quick and painless as possible. We recommend coming into our office as soon as feasibly possible for us to check for problems.

"Knowledgeable and professional... When I arrive, there’s little to no wait time. Dr. Max is one of the few doctors that will go that extra mile for a patient. One night while in pain and searching for a new dentist, I email his office, the next morning he called me and rearranged his schedule so that I can come in. He and his staff worked after hours to fix my problem and alleviate all my pain. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Max and his staff."

What Are Some of the More Common Dental Emergencies?

There are a lot of different emergencies that we see on a regular basis at our dental practice in Oakland Park. These can include:

  • Issues involving pain, toothache, swelling, or sensitivity
  • Issues pertaining to infection, abscesses, or impacted wisdom teeth.
  • You have cracked, broken or fractured teeth as a result of an accident or recreational activity
  • If you have facial trauma that requires having a tooth be extracted or replaced.

Regardless of the issue, many dental problems won’t fix or resolve themselves. Even something as simple as a gum abscess can cause a full-blown infection that requires antibiotics to treat. It is extremely important to make an appointment with our team as soon as you notice something isn’t right!

What Can You Expect During Treatment for Dental Emergencies?

The first part of the appointment involves finding out what’s wrong. This will entail Dr. Max talking to you, doing an exam and taking x-rays. Once we find the issue, we will work to provide a solution that is specific to your needs. For some, they may need to take antibiotics so that an infection clears before any other work is done. For others, we may be able to provide them with treatment in our office at the actual appointment. This will prevent you from having to comeback in for the care you are going to need.

"I am so happy to finally find a wonderful dentist. Dr. Max combines his knowledge, experience and talent to be one of the very best dentist. I had issues with a couple of teeth. He was able to get me relief. He was able to make a beautiful crown for one. The other one just was not a happy tooth. It needed a root canal. Dr. Max referred me to another doctor for the root canal. After the root canal, Dr. Max was able to place the final crown on the second tooth. Now you know about Dr. M but that is just half the story. Dr. Max had assembled one of the finest group of people in his office. They are professional and very knowledgeable. If you need of a dentist in Fort Lauderdale, call Dr. Max."
